He performs individually and with other artists including fellow circus performers, visual artists and musicians.
Flying Pole
Experience the excitement of aerial acrobatics with the flying pole, a thrilling apparatus that showcases Matt's extraordinary artistry and skills.
Spinning Pole
Dual Flying Pole
Matt takes the spinning pole to a new level with his grace and elegance. His performances make pole an art form well suited to any audience.
The dual flying pole is a unique new piece of circus apparatus resulting in dynamic performances as Matt simultaneously uses two flying poles, anchored to a single point, to perform new tricks involving increased difficulty and risk. Matt is one of the few people performing on dual flying pole.
Types of Performances
Nightclub performances are generally on spinning pole unless rigging is available to mount either a flying pole or dual flying pole. Larger indoor venues provide more flexibility for stage performances due to the availability of rigging points for a flying or dual flying pole. In most cases the ceiling height is too high to allow for a fixed spinning pole. However, a portable spinning pole can be used if preferred. If indoor venues do not have a permanent ceiling mounted or portable pole, Matt can transport his own portable spinning pole to the site at an additional cost due to the weight of the equipment. Outdoor festival, street and busking performances are on a portable spinning pole.
Shows consist of multiple choreographed sets performed to music, with each set up to five or more minutes in length. Pole is extremely physically demanding hence restricting the length of time a pole artist can perform without the body having a chance to recover. Depending on the venue, audience engagement between sets can be used to allow for sufficient rest; otherwise another performer, dance music, food service, or some other activity separates sets.
In addition to the above types of venues, Matt performs at galas, special events and parties (birthday, anniversary, bachelorette, etc.). He is available to travel within Canada and internationally and is particularly interested in opportunities at resorts, circus shows, festivals, nightclubs, and cruise ships.
